Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive

As part of our effort to give back to the community, Tabernacle School would like to once again support those who go without food/meals during the Thanksgiving season. They have a great need during this particular time in our nation. You can participate in helping families in need by donating items while will be given to the Food Bank of Contra Costa County.

The drop off for the collection barrels will be Monday, October 27th. The deadline for donations will be Friday, November 14th, 2008. The Food Bank will come to the school to pickup all donations on that day. Some suggested items for donation are listed below.

Canned fruit, canned pumpkin pie mix, canned pie filling, bagged stuffing mix, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, cornbread mix, apple cider, flour, sugar, soups (chicken broth, cream of mushroom), powdered milk, evaporated milk, salt/pepper, spices, non-refrigerated pie shells, cake mix and other boxed/canned items from which families could benefit. Please note the following: Please do not send items that need refrigeration. Students should deliver items to their classrooms. You may find more information on the Food Bank at www.foodbankccs.org
